Cold brew coffee : PINAYs' EASY RECIPE
Cold brew is a process of steeping coffee grounds in room temperature or cold water usually 12 hours or more. The result is a coffee concentrate that is often diluted with water or milk often served hot, over ice or blended with chocolate.
This process of brewing lowers the acidity of coffee.
Cold brew is different from iced coffee. Iced coffee is generally brewed hot and then chilled by adding ice although it can also be done by cold brew served with ice.
There are several ways of preparing cold brew. What I am going to show this time is brewing using a coffee maker that has a filter/chamber at the center for the coffee grounds.
So come on, let's chill out with this easy to prepare cold brew.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 li. cold or room temperature water
- 4-5 tbsp. of freshly ground coffee beans
- milk
- sugar
PROCEDURE:
- Put 4-5 tbsp. of ground coffee into the chamber/filter
- Pour cold or room temperature water into the coffee maker
- Let it stand for at least 12 hrs. or you may put inside the refrigerator (It would be best to prepare at night)
- Pour the mixture into a tall glass
- Add milk and sugar according to your taste
- Add ice cubes and stir
NOTES:
- You may also use french press or simply a pitcher. When using pitcher, you simply need a strainer to separate the coffee grounds
- If you have left over, put it in the ice cube tray and freeze for your next cold brew treat.
