Matthew 7:7-8 (Kankanaey)

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

Jesus tells us to persist in pursuing God.  People often give up after a few halfhearted efforts and conclude that God cannot be found.  But knowing God takes faith, focus, and follow-through, and Jesus assures us that we will be rewarded.  Don't give up in your efforts to seek God.  Continue to ask him for more knowledge, patience, wisdom, love and  understanding.  He will give them to you.

Oftentimes, we tend to believe that God has forgotten us most especially when the things we were asking for were not given to us at the very moment we asked for them.  At times, He may not give us exactly what we asked for because He wanted to give us a far better one, at the most appropriate time.  Do not be discouraged but just keep the faith within.

Asking, seeking, and knocking are continuous actions.  For a prayer to be effective, it should also be a continual habit, rather than an occasional plea. Prayers will certainly be answered but it doesn't mean that every demand made of God will be met in full. When there are prayers that seem unanswered, remember that God only gives good gifts. So if you ask for something that will harm you, He will not provide it.
At some point in our lives, we may have experienced asking something from Him that was never given to us but in the end, it made us so thankful realizing that the unanswered prayer actually is the answer for our prayer.
