Malacanang of the North

      Malacanang of the North A.K.A Malacanang ti Amianan is one of the important landmarks of
Ilocos Norte.  It is one of the rest houses of the then President Ferdinand Marcos. Every part of the house is so impressive.  At the terrace, you can view the scenic  Paoay lake.


Paoay Church

      Paoay Church is the common name of Saint Augustine Church.  It is considered as one of the oldest (Catholic) church in the Philippines built in 1694 and was completed in 1710.  Click to know more about the history of the church.







The Bangui Wind Farm 

            Generating energy through renewable energy systems, the Bangui Windmills in Pagudpud started operating in 2005.  It is recognized as the first and largest in Southeast Asia.  According to Manila bulletin on its January 14, 2015 article, it's capacity of 33 MW was expanded with another 19 MW bringing it's total capacity to 52 MW. There are 27 wind turbines as of this date.   Unfortunately, the windmills were not working when we visited the place sometime in year 2006.  It would have been a great experience to see the blades spinning.  How to get there?  here is the link
