Internet Service Providers in Baguio and La Trinidad, Benguet

Listed below are the internet service providers available in Baguio City/La Trinidad, Benguet.

Of the four (4) service providers, we have tried three (3) so far.  We had Smart Communications at first installed at our house.  We got the broadband plan 999.  At first, the service was good but started to slow down, then became intermittent until we got no more signal.  Reported the case several times to Smart but got "systems are currently being upgraded" response.  After the supposed upgrading, the service was still crappy so we stopped paying the bills.  The worst thing about them is that they force you to pay for services that you never really received.  What I appreciate from them though is their fast response when applying for connection.  After 2 days of filling out the application form and paying the advance payment, the contractors installed the modem and viola! got internet connection.

We availed of PLDT business plan for our internet cafe.  I made a mistake of going to an agent for application because  the agent withheld some information when I inquired like inclusion of the landline service as part of the package and charging of value added tax. I don't understand why PLDT had to include landline phone services when it's not really needed.  We wasted  Php936.00/monthy for a service that we never even used. Applying through an agent also cost installation fee when it is free when applying directly to PLDT Office.  Connection took almost two months from the application period.  It would had even took longer if not for the unending phone calls made by my husband to follow up.  We were satisfied with the speed so far, although it became crappy at times. We have, however, given up the connection when we decided to cease operating the internet cafe for some reason.

At  present, we are connected at home to Globe Broadband plan 999.  In as much as we would want to retain PLDT, their service is not available within our location, hence, the only option is either Smart or Globe.  Since we already had an idea of the crappy service of Smart, we opted to try Globe. It took us just a day to wait from the date of application and satisfying the advance payment requirement for them to install the modem and finally had the internet working.  I wouldn't say I am satisfied with the speed we are getting because I feel like we are paying more than our money's worth.  It also sucks when they kept calling when you failed to pay the bill on time.
